A dentist who takes the time to get it right
Dr. Mike Atwood grew up the sixth of seven children in Cardston, a small town in Southern Alberta — and that small-town community spirit has shaped the way he practices dentistry ever since. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta, he worked as an associate in Lethbridge and his hometown of Cardston before joining Vista Dental as an owner and general dentist.
In 2019, Dr. Atwood and his wife Melissa moved to Medicine Hat with their three children, where they've been warmly welcomed by the community. Outside the clinic, Dr. Atwood channels his creative side through sketching and oil painting — a holdover from his previous career as a graphic designer — and enjoys cycling, hiking, camping, fishing and long walks with the family dog.
At Vista Dental, Dr. Atwood is known for his calm, unhurried approach and his genuine commitment to patient education. He believes every patient deserves to fully understand their dental health — and he takes the time to make sure that happens, no matter how long it takes.
